Everything we've shipped

Every version of Kerygma, since launch. This page is only in English — switch languages above for the rest of the site.

Version 10.0

September 2026

Kerygo, your companion in faith

  • Kerygo: ask any question about a verse that resists you, a teaching that escapes you, or a saint you know nothing about. Grounded in Scripture and Tradition, never an oracle — a study companion that keeps the context of what you're reading. Five free questions for life; Kerygma+ makes them unlimited, with every conversation kept in your history.
  • Your 11 built-in reading plans now share the same way your custom ones do: same short code, same link, opened directly in the recipient's own language.
  • New reading display preference: verses run together or separated, numbers shown or hidden.
  • The home screen widget finally opens where it should. Refined interface and a few fewer bugs.

Version 9.0

August 2026

Latin prayers, now to listen to

  • Pater Noster, Ave Maria, Salve Regina, Credo — eight prayers, the Latin on one side, your language on the other. New: you can now listen to them, read aloud, to pray along or just to finally hear how they sound.
  • The home screen widgets (Verse of the day, Continue reading) are now available on Android, not just iPhone.
  • Updated technical foundations for a smoother startup and reading experience, plus a quick way to reach us and support the app.

Version 8.0

August 2026

Widgets on your home screen

  • Two iPhone home screen widgets: “Verse of the day” (a word from Scripture or a saint, renewed every morning) and “Continue reading” (your current chapter and your streak, one tap away).
  • Word of the Day: every day a word waits for you on the home screen — tap it and it becomes a card to share. Saint quotes can be switched off in Settings, for readers who'd rather stay with Scripture alone.
  • Books: jump between chapters without leaving the reader — every book, its chapters in a grid, your progress in plain sight.
  • Explanations: every explanation you've asked for is now gathered in your Library, ready to reopen in context.
  • Redesigned ambient player, simplified reading preferences, smoother scan animations.

Version 7.0Beta

August 2026

Scan your paper Bible

  • Still reading on paper? Keep your Bible open next to your phone. Snap the page header (“MATTHEW 5” is enough) and Kerygma finds the passage, then gives you its explanation and the chapter's insights. Paper and app, finally reconciled. The photo is only used to identify the passage — it's never stored. (Beta)

Version 6.0

July 2026

Create and share your plan

  • Build the reading you actually want: pick the books, or just the chapters you care about, set the order, choose the pace.
  • Every plan gets a short code and a link — send it to a friend, your group, your parish, and they join the same reading at their own pace.
  • The great prayers of the Church arrive on the home screen: Pater Noster, Ave Maria, Salve Regina — the Latin on one side, your language on the other.
  • Ten new apocryphal texts and a new design — the Gospel of Thomas, the Book of Enoch, the Protoevangelium of James, the Didache. Twenty-one writings in total, each with its summary.

Version 5.0

July 2026

Chapter Insight

  • Chapter Insight: the heart of a chapter in a few clear lines — the central message, the symbols, the key verse.
  • Reading settings: font, text size, line height, letter spacing, all adjustable right inside the chapter with an instant preview.
  • Long-press a verse to open its explanation without ever leaving your reading.

Version 4.0

July 2026

Reading plans

  • Reading plans: move through the Bible with a direction, at a daily rhythm, checking off your steps.
  • Sepia theme joins light and dark, for gentle reading on aged-paper tones.
  • Customizable verse sharing: turn a verse into an image, choosing color, font and illustration.
  • Smart notifications that adapt to you — the right verse, at the right moment.

Version 1.0
